Following a devastating assault by unknown attackers, survivors of a tropical tourist resort embark on a dangerous trek across a barren sea bed in search of answers. What they uncover along the way is a plot far greater than they could imagine, where a ruthless interplanetary tycoon will stop at nothing to get what he's after.

Empty Sea eBook Dennis Yates

What started as an interesting idea never actually got developed. It seemed like the author figured since it was a short story, actual character development was unnecessary, and instead he kept throwing in random elements. Space mercenaries, advanced technologies, alien monsters, and rising from the dead all get thrown in to the story without the author actually fleshing out any of them. I ended up confused, not entertained.

I think that there a lot of elements to this story that could make for some very interesting reading, but it simply does not work here.

Empty Sea eBook Dennis Yates Reviews

Lots of adventure in this one! Great characters and dangerous creatures abound in this novella. Do yourself a favor and give it a read!
Grabs and holds your attention from the first. Wish it had been longer. I will be looking forward to more.
I just finished this latest book from Dennis Yates and I was totally enveloped in the story. The way he describes the scenery around what's going on really makes you see it in your mind and feel like you're there. Dennis really is a great storyteller. I'm glad it was a short story cause I couldn't wait to find out what was happening and how it was going to end. I'd love to know how he comes up with his storylines because he never disappoints his readers!
Excellent short story and was pretty much contained. I may look at some of his other complete works after finishing this one.
It took me a while to get into it. Once I did, I got a little lost. Kind of a strange plot.
Very decent novella. I wish it had been longer, & had gone more into the creatures, & their background, among other things. Decent character development, though, for a short story.
I liked this book or novella as they call it. It was well written and an interesting story line. The editing was excellent. No repeated sentences or words like you see other self publish books. This one flowed really well, was easy to read and very entertaining. There is some unexpected turns in the story which makes a story that moves rig along and keeps it interesting. I really enjoyed Empty Sea, I think others will too.
